Raising Unshakeable Black Children - By Design

The First of Its Kind
Identity isn't found.
It's built.
Identity Journey™ is the first identity-building system created specifically for Black children — an 8-week program that strengthens them from the inside out.
Not a Product. A New Category.
Toys, books, and media have tried to reflect Black children back to themselves. None of them built a system. Identity Journey™ is the first.

Why Identity Journey™ Exists
Their story is being quietly rewritten.
Books are being banned
Curriculums are being revised
Artifacts are disappearing from museums
Representation is shrinking
Black children deserve identity shaped intentionally — not left to chance, not pieced together from school systems, media, or a world that often misnames them. Identity Journey™ is not a reaction to fear — it is a response rooted in intention.
Pieces of this work have existed before — a book here, a toy there, a curriculum unit if you were lucky. A full system never has. Identity Journey™ is the first.
What the System Builds
Six shields.
Structured like nothing before it.
Across eight weeks, retired Black educators guide your child through six Afrocentric Shields — each one strengthening their Identity Armor. No program has broken identity down this way before.

These Shields become the internal protection your child carries into classrooms, friendships, challenges, and the world.
Why I Built This
In my own words
For thirty years, I've built tools that help Black children see themselves clearly.
In the 1990s, I founded Identity Toys™, a company dedicated to culturally affirming products for Black children. Our Anflagship game, In Search of Identity, became a national success. Today, the Identity Toys Collection is part of The Strong National Museum of Play's permanent collection.
That was a product. Identity Journey™ is something I've never been able to build until now — a full system, not a single piece of one. It gives Black families what most have never had: a structured way to build identity intentionally, not accidentally.
I'm still doing the same work I started thirty years ago. I just finally built it whole

"If we don't intentionally teach our children who they are — the world will. That's why this had to be a system, not a product."
